ORIGIN. This breed has been received in the middle of the nineteenth century by one of the dog breeders who were engaged in cultivation a core of terriers, in district Agrill in England. In a dung of its dogs from time to time there were white puppies, they and have given rise to breed West Highland White Terrier actually representing of white cores.
The BREED DESCRIPTION. West Highland White Terrier - small, but a strong dog. The height - nearby 28 sm. Weight - 7-10 kg. A muzzle short. Jaws are densely compressed. Transition from a forehead to a muzzle is expressed well, a forehead and a nape slightly convex. Eyes dark, deeply planted, with an attentive, "penetrating" sight. Ears small, lifted. The tail not stopped, length 13-15 sm. The thorax deep. Feet brawny. A wool always purely white colour, length about 5 sm, a straight line, with a soft dense underfur.
CHARACTER. West Highland White Terrier restless, easily raised, self-confident.
USE. As well as the majority, terriers this breed has been deduced for hunting for small game and perfectly coped with this problem. However now this charming doggie gets the increasing popularity as the house favourite. She perfectly adapts for a life in apartment, but also loves freedom, therefore the small court yard or a terrace are necessary for it at least.
