ORIGIN. Since ancient times lived in Siberia of samoyed - a tribe of hunters and fishermen. Self-meal were nomads and they in any way could not do without draught dogs. Through many centuries it were served truly by the beautiful and strong white dogs capable easily and quickly to carry sledge on snow-covered open spaces. However, then they were not only white, among them were both spotty and black. In 1889 they became world renowned, thanks to pioneer Robert Scott who has brought some such dogs to England from the expedition. Then they have received the name of "Samoyed" and them have started to plant in all Europe, and then and all over the world. However distribution was received only by a white version, the others have practically disappeared.
The BREED DESCRIPTION. Samoyed - a strong and active dog. Height at dogs - 53-60 sm, at a bitch - 48-53 sm. Weight - 23-30 kg. A head of the conic form. Jaws strong. A nose black or brown. Eyes dark, slanting, deep. Ears small, slightly rounded off on the ends, lifted. The tail long, fluffy, is twirled in a ring and lifted to a back. Feet strong, brawny. Paws flat and covered with a wool. A wool dense and fluffy, but not wavy, with the dense soft underfur protecting a dog from a cold. Colour it is preferable white, but it is possible biscuit, yellowish or white with the yellow.
CHARACTER. A dog quiet, sustained, obedient, betrayed, with self-respect. As Samoyed almost always work together in a team, each dog separately seldom manages to prove. But if Samoyed at the owner only one, it always appears the fine friend, good-natured, cheerful and sociable. He never searches to itself(himself) of troubles, but if necessary can battle to the opponent.
USE. Samoyed - the classical draught dog possessing the big endurance. Also it use as shepherd, for bodyguard and to hunting. Samoyed have proved as fine sentry dogs, and also as charming house favourites. Their beauty and fine character continue to win admirers worldwide. Samoyed it is absolutely not aggressive, likes to play with children, it is very clean. Its unique lack consists that he very much likes to bark.
The NOTE. Samoyed it is possible to carry to advantages and that fact that its wool always remains white without any washing. However it is necessary to comb daily a dog, especially in summertime when parasites become most active.
