Origin. Pembroke Welsh Corgi, apparently, the relative of German basset. However, images corgi are found at ancient Celts who, possibly, and have delivered this dog to British isles where as a result of the directed breeding selection breed and was issued in the present kind. The breed standard has been fixed in 1934 then it has been registered.
The description. There are two versions corgi: cardigan and pembroke. Both appearance remind a fox. The height - 25-30 sm. Weight - to 13.5 kg, for a bitch - to 12.5 kg. A dog small, short-legged, but very quick. A head large. Eyes nut, in harmony on colour with a wool. Ears lifted. At cardigan a tail long, and at pembroke it practically is not present. A wool at cardigan short, rigid, any colour, but without the white. At pembroke a wool of average length red, sand, ryzhe-brown or black colour with white inclusions on paws, a breast and a neck. Character of Corgi - the cheerful, devoted, true, clever and capable dog to training.
Use. Corgi - a quick and vigorous sheep-dog. Through many centuries it was used as the shepherd. Also it can be very beautiful and pleasant house favourite.
