ORIGIN. There are some various theories about an origin of a German shepherd: that breed has appeared as a result of crossing of various German breeds, or that this breed has occurred spontaneously from crossing of sheep-dogs and wolves. True has got lost in darkness of centuries. However it is known that in VII century d.C. in Germany there was a sheep-dog of this kind. The first German shepherds have been presented at an exhibition in Hanover in 1882, and short-hair for the first time have been presented in Berlin in 1889г. The BREED DESCRIPTION. Height: dogs - 60-65 sm, bitch - 55-60 sm. Weight: 35-40 kg.
