ORIGIN. A Dobermann terrier pinscher - rather new breed. It has been received in 1860 as a result of crossing of a mastiff, a German shepherd, a Rottweiler and Pinscher. The German collector of taxes by name of Luis Dobermann was the founder of this breed. It often had to happen in so-called zones and consequently he has decided to deduce a breed of dog, capable in any situation to protect the owner and property. Dobermann terriers have been presented for the first time at an exhibition in 1876 and at once made the big success.

The BREED DESCRIPTION. A Doberman Pinscher - strong and very elegant dog. Height : dogs - 66-71 sm, bitch - 61-66 sm. Weight - 30-40 kg. The head extended, narrow. Transition from a forehead to a muzzle is expressed well. A teeth strong. The bite when jaws are closed, between a teeth practically is not present a gleam. Eyes dark, live and clever. Ears are lifted upwards, partially stopped. The tail is shortly stopped. Feet absolutely direct. A wool short, dense, rigid and skintight to a body. Colour: black, dark brown or blue. White marks are inadmissible. Gait at a Doberman Pinscher, easy, elegant and fast.

CHARACTER. Dogs and bitch strongly differ on temperament. Bitch are quiet, sensitive, betrayed to a family in which live, but treat with distrust strangers. Dogs are very clever, but are impulsive, often aggressive, the strict vigorous owner is necessary for them. In general, say that there are no bad Dobermann terriers - there are bad owners.

USE. The Dobermann terrier has been deduced for caretaking service and bodyguard and continues to execute these functions already more than hundred years. Doberman Pinscher are used by policemen, military (during war these dogs found out a site of snipers), also they often protect property and industrial territories of the enterprises. Bitch, as a rule, are more adapted for a life in apartment, than dogs, however both that and another are necessary daily long walks to give vent to their rough energy.

The NOTE. Character of a Doberman Pinscher is often formed up to two-year age or even longer, nevertheless, training of a dog is necessary for beginning in ten - twelve months. Dobermann terriers live long enough, many of them reach fifteen or even twenty years' age.
